Faced with competition from suppliers of cheaper, imported pizza boxes, WestRock countered with messaging that focused on safety and quality. By speaking to the domestic sourcing of raw materials,  plant safety measures, independent lab tests of liners, and the fact that final packaging meets FDA safety standards, the strategy relied on raising doubt in the minds of buyers with regard to the safety of the imported pizza boxes they were purchasing.
